Renée Zellweger Paid Homage to Her 2004 Win at the Oscars
It's been a few years since Academy Award winner Renée Zellweger attended the Oscars ceremony, but this year, she's back from her hiatus and nominated for her role as Judy Garland in Judy. If you can believe it, Zellweger won her Best Supporting Actress statuette way back in 2004 for her role in the Civil War epic Cold Mountain. Her unforgettable Oscar looks include lemon-yellow chiffon gowns, spotlight-stealing trains, and embellished columns that made her look like an Old Hollywood screen siren. This year, Zellweger's been sticking to sleek, polished looks as she's made her rounds at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, but she saved the best look of all for tonight.
E! News reported that the asymmetrical Armani gown took "many months" to complete, with multiple fittings taking place to get that beading just right. The 50-year-old let the gown do the talking by keeping her makeup minimal, and styling the look with a face-framing updo.

Though Zellweger tends to wear black on the red carpet, she did wear white once before at the Oscars — during her 2004 win. Could she be hinting that she thinks she'll be walking away with another statuette? Unclear, but we do love a good conspiracy.

The last time Zellweger attended the show was in 2013, when she wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown covered in gold sequins. Prior to that stunning look, she opted for fit-and-flare gowns and intricate, embellished dresses with lace and beading.
