Just as the drama of A Million Little Things was really starting to heat up, the first half of season 2 came to a close with an emotionally charged fall finale on November 21. PJ struggled with the revelation that Jon was not actually his father, Sophie and Danny finally learned that their sister Charlotte is actually Eddie's baby, and — after weeks of turmoil in their relationship — Gary and Maggie broke up.

Unfortunately now that viewers are dying to know what happens next, A Million Little Things season 2 is officially on its winter hiatus — which means there will be no new episodes of the show until after the holidays. And knowing this, fans on Twitter have been pretty devastated:

"That was the BEST episode of A Million Little Things to date. I'm emotionally destroyed and cannot wait until January," another fan wrote after the fall finale. "December is going to be a long month," tweeted a third.

So, when will A Million Little Things season 2 return?

According to the preview clip that followed the show's fall finale, A Million Little Things season 2 will return to ABC on Thursday, January 23. What's perhaps most important for fans to note, however: When the show does finally return, it will change time slots to 10 p.m. on Thursdays.

According to Deadline, the reason for the later airtime is that Grey's Anatomy spinoff Station 19 is also premiering its third season that night, and it will be taking over the Grey's 8 p.m. time slot and thus pushing back both the beloved medical drama and A Million Little Things by an hour.

Long story short: You'll have to stay up a little later to watch the AMLT drama unfold in realtime when the show returns in the new year. (But it's worth it to find out if Gary and Maggie will ever get back together, right?!)
