Reformation and New Balance Collaborated on Sustainable Sneakers

Arriving on October 10!

Reformation, the brand behind an ingenious pair of two-piece jeans and a frequent fave of Taylor Swift, is officially stepping into the footwear game. And thanks to the help of New Balance, Reformation is set to unveil a series of sneakers that are stylish and sustainable.

The launch, scheduled for October 10, will feature three styles in five color variations, and the collab, retailing for $80 to $110, reimagines some of New Balance's most famed styles, including the 574 and X 90 sneaker. Although you'll have to wait until October 10 to get your feet on these, an online waitlist is now available.

You may want to act fast and sign up because based on the early sneak peeks, we have a feeling that fall has found its newest shoe. Much of the collection is neutral in tone, but there are colored accents, including the addition of purple, yellow, and pink. Along with a rainbow of shoe colors to choose from, the sneakers also feature a eco-friendly use of materials. Soy-based inks were used for printing, recycled polyester compromised the lining, laces, and labels, and shoe inserts were made using EVA foam and BLOOM algae, two products that help shoe manufacturers reduce the use of fossil fuels.

This collaboration comes as more brands continue to pursue sustainable practices. Allbirds, Matt & Nat, and Reebok have also released sustainable shoe collections, and some of fashion's biggest names, including Gucci, Chanel, and Prada, signed a "Fashion Pact" that encourages more environmentally friendly practices in the fashion industry.
