Reese Witherspoon's Son Shares Actress 'Told' Him to Post New Summery Pics
Mother knows best—and in this case, the mom in question is Reese Witherspoon.
The Legally Blonde star's 19-year-old son Deacon Reese Phillippe posed for new snaps on Instagram, boasting in the caption, "My mom told me to take pics in this shirt😎💪 #mom."
The teen posed for various pictures in a knitted periwinkle short-sleeved shirt, pairing it with a rosary, aviator sunglasses, and tousled hair. In another photo, he posed with friend and Opening Theory clothing label founder Ben Massing with a backdrop of a stunning sunset.
Phillippe's mom was thankful her son listened to her. She wrote in the comments, "This shirt is a 10 out of 10. And so are YOU! 💙."
And his fans certainly agreed with Witherspoon. "She was right," read one comment.
Another fan wrote, "Deacon, you look great in that shirt with the sunglasses your mom Reese has great taste in clothes." Someone else confirmed, "Moms know best @reesewitherspoon 😀."
Phillippe followed his parents' footsteps, appearing in the third season of Netflix's teen comedy Never Have I Ever. Besides acting, he's trying to carve a career of his own as a musician. He released his first-ever single, "Long Run," in July 2020 and put out his debut album A New Earth in April 2023.
In an interview with Billboard, Phillippe opened up about how encouraging his parents have been towards pursuing music. "They’re so supportive, always," he shared. "I couldn’t have a more supportive family. I’m just really lucky that they also inspire me creatively and help me with whatever they can."
He continued, "When I make songs, the first people I show them to are my mom, my dad, my brother and my sister."
Phillippe added that his mom "likes to tell me what her favorite song of mine is, and that’s really helpful, because she has good taste."
