Reese Witherspoon Is “Positive About Her Future” amid Divorce from Jim Toth
Reese Witherspoon is doing okay and looking forward to the future following her separation from husband Jim Toth.
The Little Fires Everywhere star "has many girlfriends that she leans on," a source told People, adding that "she always had a large group of close friends. She has a lot of support."
Witherspoon and the talent agent announced their split last month with a joint statement shared on Instagram.
"We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce," they wrote. "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together."
The two were married for 12 years and share son Tennessee. The actress is also mom to daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
"Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone's respect for our family's privacy at this time," they said.
Now that some weeks have passed, the insider told People Witherspoon is feeling "positive about her future."
"Reese is moving on. There is no drama and she's just focused on her son. She and Jim share custody. They want things to be as smoothly as possible for Tennessee," they said.
Another source previously told the magazine that Witherspoon is "disappointed and upset" that her second marriage didn't work out, as "she never saw herself getting another divorce." Though she and Toth were very happy and moved quickly in their romance, the source said, they are ultimately "two very different people," and their differences became more apparent over time.
