Reese Witherspoon Is Every Confused Adult Trying to Understand Teen Slang in Relatable New TikTok
Gen Z may as well be speaking another language.
Reese Witherspoon is one celebrity with quite a sense of humor.
In a recent video the actress shared on both Instagram and TikTok, Witherspoon poked fun at herself for not understanding Gen Z's slang without the help of resources like Urban Dictionary, a website that offers the definitions of (and even examples of) trending and classic colloquialisms.
As an audio clip of an iPhone keyboard clicking played in the background, Witherspoon pretended to be typing–or researching—as an overlay of text read, "Me looking up 'Yeet' on Urban Dictionary after my kid says it for the 100th time."
"But literally, what is it? 🤦🏼♀️," Witherspoon questioned in the caption.

As the video played out, Witherspoon looked bewildered–until she presumably discovered the word's definition and presented a more enlightened expression.
The video quickly rose to popularity with fans and followers of the 42-year-old mother of three due to its relatability and Witherspoon's hysterical depiction of events.
Former Jersey Shore cast member JWOWW wrote back to the actress on Instagram, "Now I’m googling it 😂😂."
Michelle Pfeiffer and Paris Hilton also approved of the post and shared nothing but laughing emojis.
"We need to start our own adult language that they don’t understand 😂😂😂," joked one fan on TikTok.
Others were kind enough to explain what the phrase meant.
"Yeet is to throw in an aggressive manor aka chuck, 👍👍👍," one wrote alongside a slurry of similar comments.
Now, to really know if she understands what it means, she'll have to use it in a sentence.
