Reese Witherspoon Debuts New Bangs After Jim Toth Divorce

Reese Witherspoon recently wowed fans with a brand new and flattering hairstyle— wispy bangs. After filing for divorce from her ex-husband Jim Toth, the Oscar winner is showing off her fresh fringe in selfie posts and videos that are leaving her 29.5 million followers in awe.

On May 24th, the Sweet Home Alabama actress uploaded a stunning snap of herself with her new ‘do beside a white flower. The Louisiana native captioned it, “I love the South.” Naturally, fans began praising her new hair in her comment section, with many deeming it “chic,” “cute” and “classic.”

The Legally Blonde alum wore her signature blonde tresses down for the shot, styled straight. Her eyebrow-length fringe was cut with the ends falling elegantly beneath her eyebrows, in a trendy curtain bangs fashion.

Under Witherspoon’s post, one fan wrote, “Love the bangs!!” Another added, “Wowow these bangs are SO GOOD on you,” with a heart-eyes emoji as someone else chimed in, writing, “You look so beautiful Reese.” 

Soon after, the Big Little Lies star began documenting her recent trip to Paris, and posted a photo of herself rocking a white t-shirt, light-wash, mid-rise jeans and polka-dot sandal heels. She sported her Parisian-esque hairstyle and accessorized with black sunglasses. In her caption, Witherspoon wrote, “Bonjour from Paris!”

She followed this with a cute video that also flaunted her post-divorce bangs in all their gorgeous glory. The post compiled clips of Witherspoon with her mother Betty and her nieces Abby and Draper on vacation in the City of Love. The 47-year-old Walk the Line actress captioned it, “Paris with the girls is always a good idea.”

Witherspoon and Toth, a talent agent, announced their split after over a decade of marriage in a joint March 2023 Instagram post. The former couple wrote, "We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce."

The duo, who tied the knot in 2011 and share one child added, "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together."

They continued, "Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone's respect for our family's privacy at this time."

According to an insider who reportedly spoke to People Magazine, They really are the best of friends and this is such an amicable decision."

The source went on, "They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone."

Witherspoon and Toth share one son, 11-year-old Tennessee. The Draper James founder is also mom to two children; Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, who she shares with her ex-husband Ryan Philippe, who she was married to from 1999 to 2007.
