When you have a legacy, fan-loved product, who wouldn’t want to collaborate with you? We’d wager that brands are even fighting to collaborate with the likes of delicious Reese’s chocolate peanut butter cups or milk’s favorite cookie Oreo. And as the consumer, we’re okay with that because it means more sweet, PB-chocolatey goodness and wafer cookies on the shelves for us.

So, after its brief stints with Nothing Bundt Cakes and Crumbl Cookies, what is Reese’s up to now? It’s expanding its partnership with Betty Crocker.

In early 2023, Reese’s and Betty Crocker announced they were teaming up to launch six new baking mixes featuring Reese’s products. Some of the mixes included the standard chocolate peanut butter cup, while others showed off Reese’s vast portfolio by using Reese’s Puffs or Reese’s Pieces.

Now, more than a year later, the brands are expanding the lineup with a new Reese’s Lava Cake Mix.

Let us remind you that earlier this year, Betty Crocker released a new line of baking mixes with Oreo. While the traditional cake and brownie mixes obviously sound fantastic, there is one product that has made Betty Crocker fans extra excited: the first-ever Betty Crocker lava cake mix.

But, as we’ve all been thinking about the hot, fudgy cookie-filled center of the new Oreo Lava Cake, Betty Crocker has been dreaming up its next cake creation for peanut butter fanatics.

The limited-edition Reese’s Lava Cake Mix creates individual chocolate lava cakes that ooze molten chocolate and Reese’s Peanut Butter chips when broken into.

Betty Crocker and Reese’s newest baking mix joins the lineup for a limited time alongside the permanent mixes—which include Reese’s Peanut Butter Coffee Cake Mix, Reese’s Brownie Mix, Reese’s Puffs Peanut Butter Pancakes, Reese’s Pieces Cookie Mix, Reese’s Peanut Butter No Bake Bars, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Muffin Mix.

Reese’s Lava Cake Mix is on sale at retailers nationwide now where it’ll cost about $3.98 per box, while supplies last. Each mix comes with everything you need to make the perfect lava cake—including the foil baking cups. So, all you have to do is add the butter and eggs and bake.

Before this year, we didn’t realize how many lava cake opportunities we were missing. Now, between the Oreo and Reese’s versions, we want one of these every week.
