Ree Drummond Shares the Secret to a Happy Marriage on Her and Ladd's 25th Wedding Anniversary

• Ree also revealed the secret to her healthy, happy marriage, and it's actually quite "simple."

Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd are celebrating an exciting milestone this week: their 25th wedding anniversary. In a new blog post on The Pioneer Woman, the celebrity chef opened up about her relationship with Ladd. These two just have so much love for each other, and it shows!

"Twenty five years ago, Ladd and I got married. It's been a wild adventure, and we've experienced the joys, pains, ups, downs, triumphs, sadnesses, and unexpected twists and turns. (And kids! 🤓)," she wrote.

"That whole 'love' thing—the love that deepens, expands, and becomes more firmly rooted over time—is definitely there," she continued. "But if you wanna see what’s really kept me going all these years, the next pic pretty much sums it up," Ree said about a photo of Ladd sitting across from her at a restaurant.

"Can it really be that simple? Well, some days, yes! 🔥😂," she said. "I love you, Ladd."

Ree and Ladd met at a local dive bar in Oklahoma. The celebrity chef has said she felt an instant connection with her now-husband—but he might not have had the same initial reaction, as it took him four months to call her. But he eventually did pick up the phone, and the two had their first date.

Two weeks later, Ladd uttered the special words of "I love you," and the rest is history. The couple married in September 1996, and now are parents to four biological kids—Alex, Paige, Bryce, Todd—and a foster son Jamar.

For Ree, it really is the simple things that keep her decades-long marriage healthy and happy. "Ladd and I always wind up together on the couch in the evenings, no matter how busy we've been throughout the day. We both have a soft spot for old Westerns, any of The Godfather movies, and '80s flicks," Ree previously told The Pioneer Woman. "We're on the same page with snacks, too. Queso for us and popcorn for the kids!"
