Redemption Services hosts grand opening celebration in Beckley

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A new clinical social work organization hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Beckley on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Redemption Services on South Heber Street offers counseling and other services, according to the owners, and is one of several locations.

The center hosts supervision for child visitation, along with mental health and marital counseling services.

“We’re really excited that they’re located in our area,” said Ward 3 Councilman Robert Dunlap, who attended the grand opening celebration. “There aren’t enough centers in our area to allow the supervision of parents as they’re being reunified in Raleigh County, so a faith-based organization like this being added to our community is terrific.”

Co-owner Carla Phillips, a licensed therapist, said Redemption Services is a mission.

“If your life takes a wrong turn, or if you end up on a side street that you don’t necessarily want to be on, if you look, you’ll find Redemption, and we want to point people back in the right direction,” said Phillips.
