This Redditor Totally Reshaped Their Overplucked Eyebrows in Self-Isolation

During self-isolation, it's gotten increasingly hard to recognize and appreciate the upsides of staying at home. They're small in the grand scheme of things, but they do exist and they can make you feel a little bit better. For instance, this year has unexpectedly offered the opportunity to grow out bad haircuts, nurse bitten-down nails to health, and as one Redditor just proved, completely transform your own eyebrows without anyone seeing the awkward in-between stuff.

In a recent post to the MakeupAddiction subReddit, user expectinggarbanzo posted a before and after of their eyebrows at the start of self-isolation versus now — and the difference in size, shape, and density is pretty remarkable. "Took quarantine as an opportunity to grow out and reshape my eyebrows," they wrote on June 30. "I thought you all would appreciate the progression."

The post consists of four photos showing the gradual eyebrow transformation, beginning with brows that are thick at the middle and sparse on the outer corners. In the fourth and final photo, the brows have a completely different look with even and defined arches that have little to no gaps.

Naturally, the transformation sent the subReddit into a jealous fit and sparked a storytelling trend about overplucked eyebrows. "I wish my eyebrows would grow in that fast," one user commented. "2005-2006 really took its toll."

"Your eyebrows now look awesome," wrote another. "I wish I knew how to reshape mine. I am always worried about taking too much off or messing up the natural arch."

If you, like the Redditors on this thread, are wondering how to pull off a similar transformation on your eyebrows, take a page from a professional brow artist's book. Fill in your brows to your desired shape and use tweezers to clean up the hairs that lie outside that template. "Make sure you only tweeze the dead center ( 'unibrow'), your forehead, the temples, and the upper eyelids," brow artist Joey Healy previously told Allure.

Letting your brows grow out and having a few extra strays might seem annoying, but as expectinggarbanzo proves in their post, keeping them there for a while will be more than worth it when you bust those tweezers back out.
