How to Recreate Lizzo’s AMAs 2019 Look
The 2019 American Music Awards were filled with appearances from some of our fave stars, but Lizzo (and her tiny purse) has continued to steal the show. As we continue our hunt for a mini bag that will hold literally a stick of gum, Lizzo's makeup artist shared the exact details on how you can recreate the singer's beauty routine.
On Monday, November 25, makeup artist Alexx Mayo posted the complete behind-the-scenes beauty secrets to Lizzo's red carpet look. Sharing video and photographs to Instagram, Alexx demonstrated how a lot of glitter, and some purple eyeshadow, ended up coordinately perfecting with the star's bright orange dress.
Alexx detailed the sweet inspiration behind the choice of makeup, writing, "I really wanted to create a fun, ethereal look that was soft but still eye-catching. I thought of a beautiful sorbet or a delicious [dessert] and came up with this orange dreamsickle look." As for how to recreate your own DIY dreamsickle look, it all starts with a foundation from Urban Decay.
From there, you'll need a little touch of color. For Lizzo's look, Alexx used multiple eyeshadow palettes, including a yet unreleased Urban Decay palette, to create an eye that was swathed in hues of orange and purple. The look was completed with fake lashes, and a touch of brow product. And in order to keep the makeup looking dewy fresh for the night, Alexx turned to setting powder. Turning your attention to the lips, you can get Lizzo's perfect pout with lip liner and a hint of gloss.
Pair the products with your fave mini bag of choice, and you're officially ready to hit the nearest red carpet, or make a run to Starbucks. And while Lizzo's AMAs updo is also a DIY option, you could take your Lizzo-inspired look in another direction and recreate this hairstyle from the BET Awards.
