Need To Recover After A Night Out? You May Start Seeing More "Hangover Bars" For Just That

From ELLE DECOR

The concept is brilliant, and we're surprised someone hasn't thought of it sooner: After a night out, arrive at a lush green "bar" with massage stations, an oxygen bar, smoothies, hangover cure food and comfortable beds for watching television.

It's a dreamland for any partier, and in Amsterdam a few weeks ago, it became a reality when mattress startup company Matt Sleeps created the bar as a way to let people test its mattresses (plus a lot of other hangover cures).

Now, the company says more hangover bars are on the way.

"We don't believe in boring showrooms," says Joep Verbunt, the founder of Matt Sleeps. "That's why we create unique experiences where people can test our mattresses."

And a unique experience it is. Dubbed as the world's first hangover bar, the bar concept only admits guests who fail a breathalyzer test ("At the door there won't be bouncers but hangover inspectors who check if visitors really have a hangover and do not look too fresh," says the company).

Beds in the "bar" are situated between palm trees and other plants, and each bed has a television screen for each guest to watch their favorite shows. The best part? You can stay as long as you want.

During its operation, the bar is open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - prime hangover time.

Now that we know more hangover bars are on the way, we can only hope that the concept jumps over the Atlantic Ocean to those needing a healthy refresh here in the United States. Because let's face it: Amsterdam may be known for its party lifestyle, but nobody likes a hangover... regardless of where in the world you live.
