No, this is not a drill! Reba McEntire is returning to the big screen in a brand-new Lifetime movie, and she just shared the first look at the trailer.

On the afternoon of August 11, the "I'm a Survivor" singer revealed that she's returning to the small screen in a BIG way. The star took to Twitter to share the first trailer of her latest movie called The Hammer, where she portrays a sassy, spitfire attorney appointed as judge in Nevada following the suspicious death of the district's reigning judge.

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, presenting Reba McEntire in The Hammer:

Fans get a first-look of Reba playing her character Kim Wheeler when a cop pulls over a speeding truck driven by none other than the "Fancy" singer herself. With that Southern accent that everyone adores, it quickly becomes clear that she's a force to be reckoned with in the small town. Maybe it was the clip of her knocking out an inmate with her gavel after he charged at her while in court, but judging from the short trailer, Kim Wheeler is not one to be messed with.

As lead actress AND executive producer, Reba's character is inspired by a real traveling judge named Kim Wanker. The Hammer is described as "a made up story about a real life judge" where Reba's character shares her no-nonsense attitude, but the storyline is purely a Lifetime original movie fictional plot.

Needless to say, fans were ecstatic to see Reba in her new role and bombarded her comment section with messages like:

  • "Miss ma’am! I am SOOO excited for this!!! Cannot wait! This looks so good!!!"

  • "You are so badass!! I can't wait for this movie!!"

  • "Ms. McEntire, I’m shook."

We had those same reactions, but as you watch further into the trailer, you'll be mighty surprised to see a few familiar faces. Reba wasn't going into filming her new movie alone. She was joined on set by her actor boyfriend Rex Linn, who's best known for his role on CSI: Miami. Now, he's playing a "mysterious cowboy with unknown motives."

And the reunions don't stop there. The actress will also be joined by fellow Reba co-star Melissa Peterman who will play Kris, Kim Wheeler's sister.

Needless to say, we're pretty stoked for The Hammer to premiere on Lifetime.
