Good news, Reba fans: There is a reunion of sorts in the works. Barbara Jean and Reba are working together on a new show. Deadline reports that Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean, the dental hygienist who stole the heart of Reba Hart’s ex-husband, is set to star alongside Reba McEntire in a new comedy that is being developed by NBC.

The series is not a Reba spin-off, though. Instead, fans will (reportedly!) get to watch McEntire play Bobbie, a woman who inherits a restaurant from her father. The only hitch is that she has to share the business with a half-sister that she never knew about. When the rumors about this show started, we hoped that Peterman would play the long-lost half-sister, that role will be played by Blue Beetle star Belissa Escobedo. She will be a 20-something with a lot of ideas about how to run their new restaurant, which Bobbie is not particularly interested in hearing.

Peterman, who has been busy on Young Sheldon, will instead play Gabby, the restaurant’s long-time bartender. According to Deadline, Gabby is “a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister.” As anyone who has seen Reba — or their work in Lifetime’s The Hammer — knows, Peterman and McEntire have excellent chemistry. This Odd Couple-style plot could be the perfect canvas for McEntire’s sarcastic jokes and Peterman’s rejoinders.

The show is just in the pilot stage right now, but if NBC decides to make a whole series (and who wouldn’t want that?) fans will have a few questions. Specifically, since Barbara Jean and Reba are on the show, does that mean Brock, Cheyenne, Kyra, and Van will join up next? And the real question fans will want to know: will they get Dolly Parton to make a guest appearance on this series, too?
