Here Are Some Of The Reasons Taylor Swift And Harry Styles Reportedly Broke Up, According To Insiders

Taylor Swift has her fair share of famous exes, including John Mayer, Tom Hiddleston, Calvin Harris, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Sophie Turner’s soon-to-be ex-husband Joe Jonas, among others.

Long before he started dating Olivia Wilde, former One Direction member Harry Styles, now 29, briefly dated the now 33-year-old “Love Story” singer – at the end of 2012, to be more specific. And we want to delve into their relationship a little more, including some of the reasons insiders have given about their break-up…

Taylor Swift And Harry Styles' Relationship

Taylor and Harry – dubbed Haylor by fans – first confirmed their relationship when they were spotted holding hands while walking in Central Park in New York City back in November 2012 (pictured above.) But as with many A-list couples, they didn't go public with their relationship right away.

Prior to them dating, the "Watermelon Sugar" singer gushed over the "Bad Blood" singer, telling Seventeen at the time: "[Taylor]'s a really lovely girl. Honestly, she couldn't be a sweeter person. She's a great girl and she's extremely talented." He also described her as "one of those people you meet [who's] genuinely a nice person. Some people you meet and they are not as nice as you make them out to be, but she's one of those people who's really just amazing." Aww! So why did they go their separate ways?

While many A-listers don't ever reveal why they broke up with their partners, a few insiders revealed at the time what went wrong between Swift and Styles. And it seems like a big fight, along with uncertainty about their futures played a huge part in it. And if we are to believe other allegations, Styles' wandering eye…

We must point out that nothing has been confirmed, and remind everyone there are two sides to every story. According to the Daily Mail back in December 2012, Taylor and Harry broke up while on vacation in the British Virgin Islands after having a big fight, which then prompted Swift to leave their vacation early. "Yes I can confirm they have split up," an insider reportedly spilled to the pub at the time. "They were on holiday and had an almighty row. They are two young stars at the top of their game so who knows what will happen in the future."

The "Anti-Hero" singer interestingly authorized a source to spill more secrets about their relationship in a 2013 Vanity Fair cover interview. As this is coming from someone the "Lavender Haze" singer authorized, we should take everything with a grain of salt. In the interview, the insider firstly explained how Styles had a huge crush on Swift for a while and persevered a lot when it came to pursuing her, and then suggested that he also may have had his eye on other girls while they were dating too.

"He wore her down," the insider said, adding that he had allegedly "chased" the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer for a year before they finally started dating, adding: "He was all, like, 'You're amazing, I want to be with you. I want to do this.'" However, the source then went on to reveal that Harry's alleged kiss with another girl affected the relationship, which couldn't get back on track even after Swift had allegedly forgiven him.

Styles reportedly texted Swift to warn her that a pap picture of him kissing a friend goodbye would be released, but it didn't seem like the full story. According to the source, Harry and the friend were "making out like with their hands all up in each other's hair," and although Swift reportedly forgave him, she couldn't shake the feeling that his eye was wandering while they were together.

"The whole time she says she feels like he's looking at every girl," the source said, before recounting a time they were in London together and he "disappears one night and after that it was like he just didn't want to keep going." For what it's worth, Vanity Fair wrote that Styles' rep said that the insider's allegations are "undeniably false."
