This Is the Reason Kate Middleton Will Never Wear Red Nail Polish

The dress code for the royal family, including Kate Middleton, includes natural and neutral nail polish shades.

Kate Middleton is known for her iconic look. She rarely changes things up, save for a slight change in her hair length. She has been more daring with her personal style lately, though that will apparently never cross over to her nail polish choices. Marie Claire UK has reported that we'll never see Middleton wearing red nail polish (or any other bold colors for that matter), and there's a very good reason for that.

Apparently, only natural-looking nails are permitted at royal events, and since most photos of Kate Middleton tend to get taken at such events, it makes sense that she keeps her nails looking natural all the time. It's also been reported that Queen Elizabeth has been such a long-time fan of Essie's nail polish in Ballet Slippers that it's the only shade she wears.

Middleton even wore natural polish on her wedding day, which the Daily Mail reports was a custom mixture made by her manicurist of Bourjois no 28 Rose Lounge and Essie 423 Allure.
