The Real Reason Jared and Ashley Are on 'Bachelor in Paradise'

Wells Adams isn't spilling the whole story just yet!

Bachelor in Paradise seems like all fun and games as the sexy couples mix, mingle and party on the beach in Mexico, but tonight they got an IRL reminder that they could be playing for keeps. 

Tonight's special guest couple, Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon, are one of the franchise's sweetest success stories. The two met in summer 2015 while filming Bachelor in Paradise, married in 2019 and welcomed their son Jan. 31, 2022. And now they've returned to Paradise!

Why did Jared and Ashley come to Bachelor in Paradise?

Bartender Wells Adams regaled the group with the saga of Jared and Ashley, who had appeared on the show two previous times.

It all began with Ashley the virgin falling for Jared on BIP season 2, and being heartbroken about Clare making a play for him.

Ashley had decided to date other guys, even Wells himself. (Wells went on to marry Modern Family star Sarah Hyland in August 2022.)

Years later, Ashley and Jared appeared on season 5 and he popped the question. They got married and had a son, but wanted to return to paradise again to revive their sex life.

The true motivation for their return to Paradise isn't known yet. 

"I think everyone's a little confused as to what the hell they're doing there, which I think is hilarious," Wells told Entertainment Tonight. "I know what happens with them, so I think it's going to be great and funny.

One thing we do know is that their night in the “boom boom” room didn’t work out as planned, as Ashley had tummy problems and couldn’t stop farting! They didn’t make love.

How did Jared and Ashley’s experience go?

The two who met and then married because of BIP received a date card even though Casey noted that they were the ones who didn’t need it!

Jared and Ashley walked the same Mexican beach where he’d proposed and they recalled their love story.

“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” Jared told her, and she felt the same way.

“I’m so grateful for what we have,” Ashley sobbed after they talked about being parents to their baby son.

Did Jared and Ashley make love Monday night?

The supercouple kept trying to have sex in paradise and Jared scattered roses on their bed. But by the time Ashley joined him, he was fast asleep!

Did Jared and Ashley finally “boom boom”?

The BIP veterans, who had met and married due to the show, were intent on having sex. Their first attempts had been a disaster, with Ashley getting toxic gas and then Jared falling asleep on their first two nights in Paradise.

They needed to reconnect with sexy time after leaving their beloved baby son at home.

The cameras turned away from them in bed together. Seven minutes and 57 seconds later, the two were back and viewers knew they’d finally had fun in the “boom boom” room!
