Why Did Christine Quinn Leave Selling Sunset?

For starters, she no longer works at The Oppenheim Group, the real estate brokerage at the center of the reality show. She has claimed that part of her decision to leave is that the brokerage isn't a big believer in cryptocurrency. "A lot of brokerages are very wary about accepting crypto because they don't understand the inner workings of it, so that's why it's very difficult for agents to do these transactions," she told Forbes in April 2022.

So Quinn left to open her own firm called RealOpen with her husband, Christian Dumontet, who is a software engineer, tech entrepreneur, and investor. The company allows anyone to purchase or sell a home using crypto. "I terminated my contract [with The Oppenheim Group] when the brokerage launched," Quinn told People of her new venture. "I had to make a business decision that was for me, so I had to terminate the contract so I could move it over to my brokerage."

Quinn also shared the news on Instagram in April 2022. In the caption, she wrote, "Why work for someone else when you can be your own CEO?"

Part of her decision may also come from being ready to move on from all of the drama—whether it's on- or off-screen, real or not. When Quinn first learned that she was given the villain role, she actually leaned into it. "I feel like I was the only one that understood the assignment," she told The New York Times in July 2022. "I was the only one that said, 'Hey, this is a show, and I'm going to give the world a show.'"

Recently, she told E! News that her decision to play up her part on the show came with unexpected consequences. "I didn’t realize that people would think everything was real, and so that was a little bit hard," she said.

If you're wondering whether she got fired, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that it was her decision to leave The O Group. Although, on Selling Sunset's reunion special, Jason Oppenheim did say that there wasn't a place for Quinn at his brokerage right now. "Now, in the future, if she takes real estate seriously, if I can get an understanding on her perspective on things, if she changes her behavior, if she brings in a big listing, there's a lot of reasons where I would consider her having a place at The Oppenheim Group, but right now, there is no place," he said.

What Is She Doing Now?

Apart from her real estate venture, Quinn has said that she wants to get back to her acting roots. "I would love to get back into scripted," she told E! News. "That's what I'd really love to do like Lady Gaga did basically with her career."

Some of her past projects include Hot Tub Time Machine 2, NCIS: Los Angeles, Angie Tribeca, Drop Dead Diva, and Ballers.

She also signed a contract with IMG Models. She's always attending events and has worked with fashion brands, including Marc Jacobs, since her rise to stardom. Plus, she just released a book, How to Be a Boss B*tch. The book is described as "part prescriptive how-to, part manifesto, part tell-all," and it covers everything from her rise to success to tools readers can employ to manifest their own.

Will She Watch the New Seasons of Selling Sunset?

As you might have expected, Quinn has no interest in keeping up with the next installments of Selling Sunset. "I have my girls that I absolutely love and am so supportive of them," she told E! News. "But for me, I don't think I'll watch the show, just because I want to know them for who they are and not what they’re edited to be."
