Canines of all shapes and sizes will be in the spotlight this Saturday at the 14th Annual Mutt Strutt, sponsored by Halifax Humane Society.

The event, postponed from its original March date, will unfold from 8 a.m.-noon at the Daytona Beach Bandshell. It features an array of fun-filled activities for dog-lovers as well as their furry companions, including a lineup of pet-friendly vendors offering a variety of goodies for both pets and people.

Celebrate beer in Ormond Beach

Suds will be in the spotlight on Saturday at the Fifth Annual Ormond Beach Beer Festival, a benefit event to support the Rotary Club of Ormond Beach.

There will be beer and other beverages as well as culinary treats from an array of area vendors from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at The Casements, along the shores of the Halifax River off Granada Boulevard.

Beer tastings will showcase samples of more than 100 offerings from more than 35 different breweries. Tickets for the tasting are $35 advance, $40 day of show, but otherwise admission to the family-friendly event is free.

No Worries music fest spotlights locals on Main Street

Yes, the mammoth Welcome to Rockville is unfolding this weekend at Daytona International Speedway, but it’s not the only music fest in town.

The No Worries Music Fest will showcase the talents of local acts on Sunday at The Bank, the venerable blues showroom on Main Street in Daytona Beach.

Sponsored by the Daytona Beach Musicians’ Guild, the Sunday show will feature singer-songwriter Lucy Spotts at 5 p.m.; singer-songwriter Dyer Davis at 6 p.m.; magician, comedian and escape artist Andrew Ratliff, the “Amazing Andrew,” at 7 p.m. and the Cooljams Rhythm Section, featuring veteran beachside fixture Reuben "Lounge Lizard" Morgan in a two-hour set that starts at 7:30 p.m.

Family Night at New Smyrna Speedway

If exhaust fumes and roaring engines sound like a fun backdrop for a family field trip, check out a “Family Fun Night” promotion on Saturday at New Smyrna Speedway, off State Road 44 between New Smyrna Beach and Samsula.

Action on the 1/2-mile asphalt track will include two runnings of the Mod Mini Challenge Series Twin 25 as well as additional races featuring E-Mods, Super Stocks and spectator racing, among other events.
