Yes, there are plenty of Jeeps in town this weekend, but another mode of transportation will be in the spotlight at a benefit event on Saturday at the Ocean Deck Restaurant & Beach Club in Daytona Beach.

The beloved beachfront eatery, a fixture for more than 65 years at the World’s Most Famous Beach, will be hosting the 11th annual Beach Bike Bar Crawl, a benefit for the Daytona Beach-based non-profit Veteran's Support Fund.

Participants will meet at the Ocean Deck at 9 a.m., then pedal along the beach to stops that include the Hard Rock Hotel, Oasis Tiki Bar, Oyster Pub on Seabreeze Boulevard and Main Street Station on Daytona’s famed Main Street.

The event concludes at the Ocean Deck, 127 S. Ocean Avenue, for music, raffles, silent auctions and other fun.  Registration is $25. Visit oceandeck.com for details.

A jazz celebration in Port Orange

An array of student jazz ensembles from the middle-school to college levels will showcase their skills at the two-day Lakeside Jazz Festival on Friday and Saturday in Port Orange.

Now in its 25th year, the free event has exposed student musicians to jazz and provided scholarships for students to attend summer music camps.

Performances at this year’s festival run from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday on an outdoor stage at the City Center, 1000 City Center Circle in Port Orange. The lineup will feature nearly two dozen jazz bands representing public schools in Central Florida as well as college ensembles from Florida State University, the University of Central Florida and Daytona State College, among others.

Celtic sounds rule in Ormond Beach

Pipes and drums will provide the soundtrack for the annual Ormond Beach Celtic Festival this weekend at Rockefeller Gardens in Ormond Beach.

The musical headliner will be the Piper Jones Band, as part of a weekend lineup that features more than two dozen acts including the City of Mount Dora Pipe Band and Daytona Beach Pipe and Drums.

Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at Rockefeller Gardens, 25 Riverside Drive, along the Halifax River.

Tickets are $12 daily for adults in advance at ormondbeachcelticfestival.com. It’s free admission for ages 11 and younger. Tickets will be $15 per day at the gate.

Two-day passes are available for $18 at the event website. Active-duty military personnel can receive discounted admission at the gate by presenting ID.

A 4-20 party in New Smyrna Beach

A daylong dose of blues and cosmic rock music will be featured at a “4-20” festival celebration on Saturday at Toni & Joe’s Patio, just south of Flagler Avenue along the sands of New Smyrna Beach.

The music will be provided by the Highway Flyers, a unit of highly seasoned, well-traveled blues practitioners who have been a weekend staple at the beachfront bar for years. After the Flyers perform from 1:30-4:30 p.m., the Cosmic Jam will channel the Grateful Dead vibe from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

In Flagler, an Earth Day celebration

Environmental awareness will be at the heart of an Earth Day celebration on Saturday at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Ocean Shore Blvd. in Palm Coast.

The event will feature a DJ, live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food, kids activities, environmental education presentations, a gift shop, plant sales and more.
