As a wise woman once said, let's go to the beach. Let's go get away. With summer quickly approaching, it's time to get like Nicki and stock up on all the necessary supplies for a perfect trip to the shore. Trust me, there's nothing worse than realizing you don't have an essential while you're lying in the sun.
Luckily, Women's Health talked to a few beach and beauty experts for their favorite must-haves, so your beach bag will be loaded with all the necessities. Sports Illustrated swimsuit models Madison LeCroy, Nicole Williams English, Katie Austin, Yumi Nu, and Sixtine Rouyre all shared the products that never leave their beach bags.
First up, Madison LeCroy generously gave two recommendations: the Laneige lip balm (which is also a Sydney Sweeney favorite) and Supergoop! Glowscreen. "Love a glow," she tells WH. "I put it on before my makeup, every time. Love that."
Madison is also a firm believer in using the heat for your beauty benefit. "With the hair, let it go wild," she says. "Let the sweat just glisten. Embrace it.”
Sixtine Rouyre, a model and body neutrality advocate, suggested a very practical product: Aquaphor. If this isn't already in your beauty routine, you should def add it. Aquaphor works on your lips, but it also heals cuts and was a product behind TikTok's viral slugging phase. "I'm an Aquaphor girlie until I die," Sixtine told WH. "As long as I have this, we’re fine. Wherever I am, I have Aquaphor and my HydroFlask."
Fitness personality Katie Austin suggests Bag Balm, another TikTok favorite. Similar to Aquaphor, Bag Balm is somewhat of a beauty catch-all, but it works wonders on your lips. It comes in a tube or a tin if you really want to stock up. Fun fact: this beauty product was originally intended for cow udders—so you can bet it's udder-ly worth the buy.
Yumi Nu, a 2022 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover star, recommends EltaMD sunscreen (which, psst...dermatologists love, too!) The sunscreen is a 40 SPF, plus it helps hydrate the skin and reduce wrinkles. "You have to make sure [you have] a really good sunscreen," she says, suggesting EltaMD. "I have a huge bottle. I’ll bring that one, a cute beach towel, a nice basket bag.”
Finally, WAGS star Nicole Williams English shared the beauty product that she uses on and off the water, Saint Jane vitamin C drops. And, beyond products, Nicole had some really great beauty advice. "You just have to have self-care. When you take care of yourself, that’s when the confidence comes.” So true!
Well, my cart is totally loaded up. One step closer to summer!
