At last, the end is here. Game of Thrones has just started filming its *sobs* final season in Belfast and based on what we’re hearing — and definitely not hearing — it’s going to be wild. With just six episodes of the series left, it sounds crazy to insert another character into the mix, but that’s exactly what David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have done, with good reason.

Joining the cast for the final season is Marc Rissmann, who will play the head of the Golden Company, Harry Strickland.

But wait — who is he and why does Game of Thrones need *more* sellswords and other expendable soldiers (ahem, Dickon Tarly)?

If you remember, during the season seven finale, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) revealed to her brother/lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) that despite having agreed to a cease fire with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in order to focus on Jon Snow’s pet project of battling the Army of the Dead, she had zero intentions of actually following through. During their breakup, she reveals that Euron Greyjoy — who earlier in the episode, took one look a the captured the wight and appeared to row, row, row his boats back to the Iron Islands — is *actually* on his way to ferry over the Golden Company sellswords from Essos.

The Last Kingdom actor will serve as commander of Cersei’s newly bought army, as she attempts to sneakily take over Westeros while *literally* every other character is huddled in the north, trying to figure out the best way to take on the White Walkers and their Army of the Dead. Not cool, Cersei.

The final season of the HBO series is even more secretive than usual with the cast and crew doing just about everything imaginable to keep spoilers from being leaked out. While nothing’s been confirmed, it’s looking more and more like we’ll be waiting until 2019 for the series to air. In the meantime, we’ll have to study up, rewatch the series, and maybe binge Black Sails to pass the time.
