Hollywood lost an iconic actor when Ray Liotta died on May 26 at age 67. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ray's publicist confirmed that "the actor died Wednesday night or early Thursday in his sleep in his hotel room while in the Dominican Republic making the movie Dangerous Waters. His fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, was with him."

Fans and costars are sending their condolences and sharing memories of the actor, whose credits include Goodfellas, Marriage Story, Narc, Something Wild, and more. He won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his 1994 role in ER.

Fans remember him fondly for his turn as Shoeless Joe Jackson in the 1989 film Field of Dreams. Kevin Costner, who starred alongside Ray in the classic baseball movie, shared a special memory after hearing news of Ray's death.

Kevin shared a clip of his character, Ray Kinsella, and Ray Liotta's Shoeless Joe Jackson. In the scene, Kevin pitches to Ray, and Ray hits the ball directly at him, taking him off his feet. Kevin reveals that this scene was authentic, not a piece of Hollywood magic. He writes, "Devastated to hear the news of @rayliotta’s passing. While he leaves an incredible legacy, he’ll always be 'Shoeless Joe Jackson' in my heart. What happened that moment in the film was real. God gave us that stunt. Now God has Ray."

Fans left comments of support and shared memories of the actor. One wrote, "In ‘92 I him met [sic] at the Newark Airport, we were on the same flight to LA. He was intimidating in person & looked taller than his height of 6 ft. We chatted about his films & he asked what was my fav? I said, Field of Dreams. He smiled & said, Yeah, me too."

Another said, "Truly heartbroken😢💔 One of my absolute favorite movies of all time, your chemistry was palpable! Thank you for this♥️ #riprayliotta."
