From Cosmopolitan

Just about three weeks ago, Krista Wujek Threefoot’s daughter Michele dressed up as and went viral for being Ruth Bader Ginsburg at her school’s “superhero day.” Threefoot edited her Dec. 20 post to explain Michele’s picture had made it to RBG and that the justice’s assistant emailed for her address so Bader Ginsburg could “write her a handwritten note.” Alas!

“Dear Michele,” the note begins, “You look just like me! May you continue to thrive on reading and learning.” She signed it “Every good wish, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”

Now allow Michele to demonstrate the emotional stages of opening a personalized letter from one of the most iconic women of all time.

First, there is pleasant confusion:

…quickly followed by pleasant shock…

…which leads to “holy shit,” or whatever the 8-year-old equivalent is…

…and ends with pure contentedness.

If you take one thing from this story (besides good exists in the world and the future is female, etc.), let it be this: RBG sees your posts. She sees your memes and your costumes and your jokes. She sees it all. Remember this.
