The late actor received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame nine months after his unexpected death.

Ray Liotta is the newest name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after receiving a posthumous star just nine months after he unexpectedly died.

Liotta—known for his work in Oscar-nominated Field of Dreams, Goodfellas, Something Wild and tens of other feature films—died in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic back in May 2022. He was 67.

On Friday, Feb. 24, the Emmy-winning actor received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with his daughter, Karsen Liotta, accepting the honor on his behalf at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

"I'm so touched to be accepting this honor on behalf of my dad. I couldn't be more proud of him," Karsen, 24, stated during her speech. "He was a one-of-a-kind actor and the best friend, brother and father anyone could have asked for. I lucked out with you."

"If you have a Ray in your life, you're lucky," she continued. "I love you so much. Thank you for your work and the imprint you left on me and all of those who love you. Everyone deserves a Ray in their life.

Also present at Friday's ceremony was Taron Egerton, who starred alongside Liotta in AppleTV+'s limited series Blackbird, as well as Elizabeth Banks, who directed the new film Cocaine Bear, one of Liotta's last projects before his death.

"He was one of those rare artists that brought all of himself into his work, all of his intensity, all of his vulnerability and, in the case of our show, all of his love," Egerton, 33, said of Liotta, who played his dad in Blackbird. "I was deeply inspired by Ray, he was the epitome of an actor's actor."

Banks also said a few words about Liotta, noting that he was not just a great actor, but an exceptional person as well. "Although he's known for playing tough guys, I found him to be charming and a little mischievous, which made him charming as an actor and as a man, and truly perfect for Cocaine Bear."

Cocaine Bear came out on Friday, the same day as Liotta's Walk of Fame ceremony. The comedy horror film is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
