Rashaad Penny took a Hawaii defender for a ride Saturday night.

Literally.

Penny, on a second quarter carry, picked up a 12-yard gain. For about eight yards of that run, Penny had Hawaii linebacker Jahlani Tavai holding onto his jersey and dragging on the turf. Really.

The best part is that Tavai didn’t even make the tackle. Penny, with his jersey a bit stretched out, squirmed free before being brought down by defensive back Daniel Lewis. Jr.

A run like that showcases Penny’s skillset — speed, power and balance — quite well. Penny entered the weekend third in the country in rushing yards with 1,115 for the Aztecs, who have dropped two games in a row after a 6-0 start.
