Veteran rapper Rick Ross is turning heads with a recent claim that he’s spent $100 million in the last six months.

Appearing on Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio, Ross told host Ebro Darden he’s always willing to make substantial investments in projects he deems worthy. “I’ve had my hands in 25 different pots. I been cooking on the stove for a long time, and really I was getting money the whole time,” Ross admitted. “I'm real frugal at some points, but when it's time to make a power play, I will. I'll spend $100 million. I spent that in the last, shit, six months.”

Ross went on to detail his most recent purchases, which include a house in Miami Beach and a jet, which cost $35 million each. The remaining $30 million is tied up in unnamed investments. “We ain't just talking about it,” Ross confirmed. “We really getting to it and spending it."

His remarks led to many fans expressing shock online, and so later on Ross posted another video clarifying his comments. “You heard me say I spent a hundred [million] in the last six months. I want you to listen very closely. There’s a difference between spending a hundred and investing a hundred. Or fuck it, you might spend 50 and invest 50,” the Miami native chuckled.

Before Ross invested a significant portion of his wealth into real estate, he was already one of the highest-paid rappers in the world. In addition to buying and flipping numerous homes, including Evander Holyfield's former manse, Ross spent more than a decade acquiring close to 30 Wingstop restaurants across the country. AFROTECH reported that the chicken chain reportedly earns him $200,000 per year. Online estimates of his net worth hover around $150 million, although the exact figure is unclear.
