Up-and-coming rapper Lexii Alijai has died at age 21 Lexii on Wednesday, according to multiple publications, including Page Six. Her cause of death is unclear.

Lexii’s cousin Raeisah Khan confirmed the news on Facebook, calling the rapper a "real legend."

"If you know her or heard her music you’d feel chills😔," she said. "Rest in paradise you’ll never be forgotten!👼🏽 I’m so lost for words...my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul Lexii Alijai It’s too soon."

Singer Kehlani, who featured Lexii on her songs "Jealous" and "You Should Be Here," tweeted about the rapper’s death. "I’m angry I’m confused i’m heartbroken i’m angry i’m confused," she wrote on New Year’s Day. "I love you lexii. my baby was 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Kehlani also seemed to reference the rapper’s death in another tweet. "Weakest saddest way to start a new year," she wrote. "I’m off this happy new year please please please please be safe out here. love on your people. Please."

Lexii first got attention (and a large following) on Soundcloud and YouTube before she released the album Joseph's Coat in 2015, and Growing Pains in 2017.

Her last Facebook post was on New Year’s Eve, when Lexii re-shared this message she'd written in 2013: "Stayin in the crib as usual on New Years... Iont do parties. I hope everyone has fun, be safe!"
