Rapper Juice WRLD Has Died Unexpectedly

Rising rapper and superstar Juice WRLD has died after being hospitalized in Chicago early Sunday morning. According to TMZ, the 21-year-old collapsed from a seizure at Midway Airport after returning from a trip to California, and law enforcement told the website that he was bleeding from the mouth when paramedics arrived. Juice was reportedly still conscious when he was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Juice WRLD, whose real name was Jarad Anthony Higgins, started posting music to SoundCloud as a teenager in 2015, and broke into mainstream success with the release of his 2018 Sting-sampling hit "Lucid Dreams" on his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance. Earlier this year, his album Death Race for Love, which he reportedly freestyled and recorded in just four days, took the top slot on the Billboard 200 chart, which tracks album popularity by combining sales and streaming numbers. That album featured "All Girls Are the Same," his second song after "Lucid Dreams" to reach No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Over the course of his short career, he collaborated with artists like Travis Scott, Future, Ellie Goulding, BTS, and Panic! at the Disco.

Juice turned 21 on December 2.
