Rap Sh!t's back for its second season, and Shawna and Mia are bringing their music nationwide.

Issa Rae's acclaimed follow-up to Insecure premiered on Max last year, introducing two estranged high school friends who form an aspiring rap group and take their first steps into the Miami music scene. Now that they've become social media sensations, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion) are ready to bring their music nationwide, as they head out on their first tour opening for controversial rap star Reina Reign (Kat Cunning).

In an exclusive trailer for season 2 (included above), Reina's producer Francois Boom (Jaboukie Young-White) lays out a roadmap for the duo: "We go on a tour, record an EP, walk into that label, get a million dollar deal!"

However, fans of season 1 will know the hustle is never that easy. As the pair enter this pivotal opportunity to turn online buzz into industry fame and fortune, they'll face challenges that will force them to decide if they will stay true to themselves or conform to the demands of the tastemakers. All of this comes as they also deal with life back home, including Mia juggling new romances with her relationship with her child's father Lamont (RJ Cyler), and Shawna facing a possible prison bid from her credit card scheme with Maurice (Daniel Augustin). Meanwhile, Chastity (Jonica Booth) struggles to retain her authority as the group's manager as Francois tries to take over.

While Rap Sh!t is filled with the uproarious comedy and nuanced friendships that has defined Rae's projects, it's above all an insightful look into the struggles involved in being a Black woman reaching for success, specifically within the male-dominated hip-hop scene. "Finding ways to make money and be successful, and turning yourself into a brand, that is what many young Black women are dealing with right now. All women, really!" Osman said last year in an exclusive interview with BAZAAR.com.

Rap Sh!t season 2 arrives on Max with a two-episode season premiere on Thursday, November 9. The rest of the season will air with one episode weekly, leading up to the season finale on December 21.
