House is one of the best medical dramas ever! Giphy / Via media.giphy.com
House is a show that I completely miss being on television. It was eight seasons and 177 episodes of completely riveting television. The character of Dr. Gregory House provided such great moments, with compelling, dynamic storytelling mixed in with silliness at the right time. This show was amazing, and here, I rank all eight seasons from good to great.
8. Season 7 Best Episode: "The Dig"
This season is the only season that I don't think is good. It truly was a letdown. This season focused on Cuddy and House's relationship, which had its ups and downs, but overall, the feel and the plot of the show became lost.

Season 6 started with a two-hour season opener that showed Dr. House in a ward. This season was a recipe that the writers used, wanting Laurie to just carry the show on his back through his great acting performances. He's capable, but it didn't lead to great television all of the time. I appreciated how this season switched up from their regular formula and rewarded us with happy endings toward the end of the season. Overall, still a good season, especially six seasons in.

The last season of the series did a good job trying to bring back that heat that made us love the first four seasons. It did seem like the characters lost that fire to solve the crazy cases that made us love the show until we reached the series finale. They played the hits, which means in this case, strictly focusing on Dr. House, and it gave us a perfect, final, in-depth examination of the man, myth, and legend. Season 8 is more sentimental than the last seasons, but it is the last one, and that's the way it goes.

THE HALLUCINATION FINALE >>>
Season 2 builds on a strong Season 1 with House doubling down on who his character is and how that's going to remain a constant for the rest of the show. Dr. House is witty, a manipulator, and a genius, and you just can't change that. The only reason why this season is low compared to the ones above is due to the absolute lack of a strong narrative. With that being said, this season has a ton of hidden gems episodes-wise; an overall fun and engaging season of the show.

I'm here to put more respect on Season 5's name, at least more than what most critics do. The PI Lucas addition was good this season as he's the best non-regular character the entire season. The season was darker than the first four, which takes some adjusting, as we see a very shocking death. Lawrence Kutner committed suicide, causing House to hallucinate more than ever. The writing this season is sharp, as the death of Amber also causes individual problems that House, Wilson, and Cuddy have to battle.

Season 2 left on a great cliffhanger, and the first seven to eight Season 3 episodes kept the momentum strong. A lot of the medical cases intrigued me due to how similar they are to things House goes through. The Tritter storyline might have slowed down some of the momenta I was talking about earlier, but these new patients brought out more wrinkles in the House character that made me love the show more. Also, Foreman's resignation and the overall dissolution in the later episodes set up some great television for my favorite season, which we will hear about later. Very solid season for the show.

Season 1 is a great introduction to a show with entertaining story progression to go along with an impressive cast. The diagnosis is very Sherlock Holmes -esque, and we see how much of a genius and a jerk House is all in one. "Three Stories" is still the best origin story episode I've seen any show do and a great watch if anyone needs a reason to watch this show.

Season 4 is the shortest season of House , but despite the circumstances (writer’s strike), was the best season of the series. The show was at its creative peak in Season 4. House and Wilson's relationship was being tested the entire season, and this made Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard step up their acting performances. It was Season 4 that made me put Wilson and House as a duo high up in my top television duo list. Also, House's team left him in Season 3, so we see a reality show element of finding out who will now be a part of his new team, which added a layer to the viewer experience that is so unique. Truly, this season is a gift and one I'm going to rewatch tonight.
