Randolph Street Market brings vintage, antique vendors back to West Loop

CHICAGO — Beautiful weather brought hundreds of people to the Randolph Street Market on Saturday as they searched through thousands of one-of-a-kind vintage finds.

It all kicked off on Saturday and organizers say it is among the largest urban antique markets in the country.

“People love it, this is the 21st year of this organization,” Randolph Street Market Board Member Colleen Kinder said.

Nearly 1.5 million people have stopped by the festival since it opened up 21 years ago.

“They’ve got antiques, vintage, new everything from fashion to furniture to outdoor furniture rugs clothing everything you want is here,” Kinder said.

Organizers say shoppers will find about 200 hundred vintage and antique vendors on sight and rain or shine, the market will be open through the weekend.

Joe Valenti, who runs Flower Child Vintage, was among the vendors.

“They are looking for that look and they want individuality. They want it not to be something you’ve seen a million times,”  Valenti said.

But unique vintage items are not the only thing offered, the market also features live music and food vendors.

Organizers say the community keeps the market going.

“It’s fantastic that everyone in the area, both the city and the suburbs, come together,” Kinder said.

The Randolph Street Market will be open again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
