This Ranch Dressing Recipe Is the Only Spring Condiment You’ll Need

Now is the time to plan your spring menus, and we have a condiment recipe that will brighten up all those lunchtime meals and dinner dishes.

The condiment is our fan-favorite Herbed Buttermilk Ranch Dressing, and oh, what a dressing it is. Its simple to put together, sure, but it’s also creamy and flavorful and packs a delicious punch. It’s a perfect addition to a leafy green salad, and it can also serve as a dip.

To put together this stunner of a dressing, you need just a few ingredients, none of which are a challenge to source. The addition of buttermilk, mayonnaise, and sour cream gives the blend its creamy consistency, and an assortment of herbs—including chives, parsley, shallot, and garlic—adds to the intriguing flavor profile. You’ll finish it off with salt, pepper, a dollop of Dijon mustard, and a pour of hot sauce. Once all the ingredients are combined in a glass jar, you’ll give it a good shake to combine. Be sure to reference the recipe for the full ingredients listing and method.

We say this is the only spring condiment you’ll need because it’s so incredibly easy to customize this mixture to your menu and the tastes around your table. To incorporate a lemony ranch infusion, just add lemon juice, olive oil, and honey. For a blue cheese version, add mashed blue cheese, crumbled blue cheese, additional chives and black pepper, and paprika. And, for perhaps our favorite iteration, you’ll need to add avocado, jalapeno, more hot sauce and salt, as well as lime juice—the result is an addictive Avocado Ranch that you’ll want to pour on everything. For reference, all of these twists are listed in the recipe method with measurements and ingredients.
