Ranburne anticipating rodeo action

Sep. 21—The annual Cleburne County Rodeo hosted by the Cleburne County Chamber of Commerce will be held in Ranburne Friday and Saturday. The array of cowboy-themed activities has everyone there excited for the spectacle they'll see.

"This is the biggest thing to ever happen in Ranburne," Mayor Rodney Brown said Thursday.

Brown said that on Saturday night he will welcome everyone and give an introduction to the town of Ranburne along with delivering the opening prayer.

The rodeo will feature:

— Steer wrestling

— Bareback riding

— Saddle bronc riding

— Cowgirls breakaway

— Team roping

— Barrel racing

— Bull riding

— Mutton bustin'

There will be a variety of food trucks offering everything from wings, pork skins, BBQ and merchandise vendors.

The rodeo will be held Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23 at 21700 Main Street in Ranburne. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $15 per adult, $10 for 12 and under and free for 3 and under.
