One of 2023’s greatest trends has undoubtedly been Mary Jane flats, and the style is still going strong in 2024. The shoe, which is reminiscent of school-girl footwear, has become an integral part of the fashion scene, thanks to big names such as Gigi Hadid, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa, Amal Clooney, and Katie Holmes all wearing the trend. Even Gen Z celebrities, like Kaia Gerber and Elle Fanning, have jumped on board, extending it to further generations. And, not to mention, fashion editors, like yours truly, approve, too — and I just discovered one of my favorite pairs ever from one of my go-to footwear brands.

The flats, which are currently on sale for as low as $41 on Amazon, come in sizes five to 11 and a variety of colors like beige, black, raspberry pink, and metallic silver, so you’ll have no problem finding a hue for you. The streamlined silhouette features a low, stacked heel, patent leather upper, adjustable strap for the perfect fit, and modern square-toe front. The sleek shoe also has extra cushioning on the sole for a comfortable fit.

These shoes are really worth the hype, and yes, I did put multiple pairs to the test. I own three colors: black, navy blue, and soft gray. I will say, the darker hues better hide scuff marks, though the lighter hues are great for softer color palettes. The silhouette is preppy and sophisticated while still standing out from other Mary Janes out there, and that’s exactly what I was searching for. The number of compliments I’ve also received on the Tinsely flats only confirms this shoe’s impact.
But, when searching for the perfect Mary Janes, the look is only half the battle. Thankfully, the fit of this Franco Sarto pair is perfect, too. The adjustable strap allows me to find a snug, secure hold I can wear with or without socks. The spacious square-toe front provides just the right amount of wiggle room, helping my bunion-prone feet find comfort. I’ve even worn the Tinsley Mary Jane flats for hours at a time, running blocks in the rain and they didn’t slip off nor give me blisters.

Styling the Mary Janes flats is beyond simple, too. I like to wear mine with skinny jeans for a leg-lengthening effect, sheer tights for a chilly night out, or with trousers and socks for a professional yet trendy look. They’re one of the easiest shoes I own when it comes to styling, especially given the fact I can wear them year-round with simple additions, like tall socks.
