RAMblin’ Round Texas: Guadalupe River State Park

RAMblin’ Round Texas: Guadalupe River State Park

SPONSORED (All American Autoplex) – The Guadalupe River State Park is located in Spring Branch, Texas, and it has a lot to offer.

You can hike or bike the 13 miles of trails that range from about three miles to three tenths of a mile. You will find wildflowers and shade trees along these paths that are clearly marked.

The Discovery Center is in the middle of a beautiful loop which is a short hike for the kiddos. This center is sure to keep them occupied with things to look at with microscopes and binoculars as well as hands-on exhibits.

As with most state parks, this park is dog-friendly. You can also take your trusty steed along for the trip, but there are no equestrian campsites.

However, if you’re taking a solo or family trip, the Guadalupe River State Park features 85 water and electric campsites and nine walk-in tent sites. While there is a lot to do here, of course, the main attraction of this whole park is the river.

There are four miles of river frontage where you can claim the perfect spot to listen to the river flow over the rocks and through the trees. You can swim, fish, tube and canoe. There are also plenty of grills provided, and all you need to do is bring the food and charcoal. There is not a lifeguard on duty, however, so make sure you take all the safety precautions you need.

Styrofoam and glass are prohibited in the area. Remember to treat the river and land with respect and clean up after yourselves. Also keep an eye out for any critters and any park alerts and plan ahead as much as possible.
