Dwight Schrute and Angela Martin's relationship on The Office couldn't be more different from Rainn Wilson's real-life marriage to his wife, Holiday Reinhorn.

The actor has been with Holiday, a writer and producer herself, for nearly 30 years. According to The Huffington Post, the pair first crossed paths during an acting class at the University of Washington in the mid-1980s. As Rainn wrote in his 2016 memoir, The Bassoon King: Art, Idiocy, and Other Sordid Tales from the Band Room, he spent years after that acting class thinking about Holiday. Finally, he decided to try to reconnect by looking her up in the Whitepages.

When the two eventually set a time and date to meet up again, Rainn was instantly struck by Holiday's beauty. "I don't believe in love at first right — it simply doesn't make sense — but that's what happened to me on that night," he wrote.

Rainn described the two as "artsy bohemians" living in New York City in the '90s. "We survived on pizza, falafel, beef with broccoli and scrambled eggs for years, living barely above the poverty line — doing theater and writing strange things," he wrote on Instagram. "We walked our pit bull, read books, saw experimental plays, listened to Wilco and stayed up until 2 every night."

In the middle of the decade, the two decided to get married, sans any special proposal. "I couldn't imagine being with anyone else as I loved her so damn much," he penned in his book. "Also, I wanted the tax credit (Yes, there is a little bit of Dwight in me. Always has been, always will be)."

On June 30, 1995, the two tied the knot right along Washington's Kalama River. Like Rainn's iconic character from The Office, the ceremony was quite unconventional. The pair's guests were ushered to the ceremony spot by a bagpiper playing "Amazing Grace," Holiday wore white go-go boots and a minidress, and the ceremony concluded with the two jumping into the river.

"It was a bizarre and profound expression of our love. And a h--l of a lot of fun," he wrote in his book.

In 2004, Rainn and Holiday welcomed their son, Walter McKenzie Wilson, into the world. Shortly after, Rainn scored his iconic role on The Office, forever changing the actor's life.

Since then, the two have had their hands full with various projects. Most recently, Rainn has been acting in TV shows like The Power and Utopia and producing the Netflix docuseries We Are the Champions. Holiday, meanwhile, was the narrator of The Bluff Creek Film Project in 2018 and was a writer for the 2017 short drama Push.

The two currently reside in their 1974 Spanish-style hacienda home in Southern California, per People.

Every now and then, Rainn and Holiday will share a picture of themselves on social media for fans to swoon over. To commemorate their 25th wedding anniversary this summer, Holiday posted an Instagram of the two and acknowledged the "many wonders and twists and turns" of their long-term relationship in the caption.

She ended her caption with a thought that summarized their love for each other: "As the poets like to say — if we weren’t supposed to dance...why all this music?"
