This magical (unofficial) Italian delicacy does not in fact come from a rainbow pasta machine. No, you don't need the assistance of a unicorn to make it. Or a leprechaun. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't need to rain for there to be rainbow pasta. And finally, I'm sorry to say, there will be no pot of gold at the bottom of your bowl.
I can tell you how easy it is to make it, though! All you really need is pasta and food coloring. First, cook the pasta to your liking. Next, divide it into ziplocks and dye it with food dye diluted with a little bit of water. Shake it up and serve with butter and parm, or whatever pasta mix-ins you like best. Viola! A dinner as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the belly.
