Rachel McAdams Unveils Chic Espresso Brunette Hair Transformation In NYC—Just In Time For Spring

Rachel McAdams just debuted a stylish spring hair transformation — switching from her honey blonde locks to a luscious chocolate brunette shade with ashy highlights. The Oscar nominee, 45, graced the red carpet for the new Broadway show, An Enemy Of The People, this week, and donned a navy blue, ribbed turtleneck sweater, a shiny leather maxi skirt in a matching hue and trendy, pointed-toe heels. 

The Spotlight actress wore her newly dyed tresses down, parted to the side and styled into elegant loose curls. As for her makeup look, McAdams went for subtle black liner, voluminous lashes, rosy blush and a glossy pink pout. McAdams, as fans know, has pulled off a plethora of hair colors over the years — from her iconic golden blonde mane as Regina George in Mean Girls to her exquisite light red tresses as Allie in The Notebook.

One notable instance of McAdams rocking brunette tresses, however, would have to be her shiny brown curls as Claire Crawley in 2005's Wedding Crashers. Her new color, while reminiscent of that style, is a little lighter now, with cool-toned highlights helping emphasize and flatter her facial features. At the event, the About Time star completed her look with shimmering stud earrings, a chunky statement bracelet and dainty thin rings.

During the photocall for her Broadway show Mary Jane earlier this month, McAdams retained her usual buttery blonde locks, which were notably longer than they are presently. This indicates that in addition to a color change, the Doctor Strange alum and style icon also opted for a fresh haircut.

McAdams' fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) this week to express their adoration for her fresh hair color makeover, marveling at her ability to effortlessly carry off an impressive range of hair hues. "Rachel McAdams is so pretty with this hair color! i think it suits her more than the blonde she had in mean girls," one wrote.
