Rachel Lindsay Thinks Ben Is Just Like Peter Kraus—And That’s Not a Compliment

On December 16, former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay revealed that Ben Smith from Tayshia Adams's season of The Bachelorette reminded her of another popular member of Bachelor Nation: Peter Kraus—and no, she did not mean it as a compliment.
“He does just enough to stay by,” Lindsay said on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, per Us Weekly. “He reminds me of Peter Kraus. He reminds me of him in the way that, like, he gives you just enough. But if you really break down what he’s saying, it doesn’t match up. So it’s like, ‘I don’t believe you. Like, I’m into you. I like you. I feel it, but there’s something that I can’t explain that’s not adding up here.’”
In case you don't remember, Kraus wasn't ready to propose to Lindsay during their season in 2017, and she ultimately chose her now husband Bryan Abasolo. Similarly, Smith was unable to tell Adams he loved her out loud, ultimately leading to his elimination.
When Adams sent home Smith during the December 15 episode of The Bachelorette, people on Twitter were beside themselves. Now it seems Rachel Lindsay may think Ben Smith is angling to be the next Bachelor.
“Ben 1,000% wants to be the Bachelor,” Lindsay said. “I beg producers, please don’t do it. We’ve been here before with the person who is so desperate to be the lead. It never works out. When they want it so badly, when they’ve been planning for it, calculating, made certain moves to get to that point and then you give it to them, it always messes up. There are so many great men from the Clare-Tayshia season. Don’t pick him. I don’t want to see it.”

Back in 2018, Kraus shared that while he “thought about” taking that leading man spot, he ended up relieved it went to Arie Luyendyk Jr. “It’s a world that I am happy without,” he told Us Weekly at the time.
“I mean, being in the spotlight, if you will, it’s exciting. I’m not going to lie,” Kraus continued. “Walking past a magazine and seeing myself in a little tiny picture in the corner, it’s interesting. But I don’t know. It’s not something that I need to get fulfillment in my life.”
