Rachel Brosnahan Had a "Corset-Related Injury" From Her The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Costumes

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel viewers might be too caught up in the show to notice a few of the details, but Rachel Brosnahan let everyone know that all the fast talking, whimsical hats, and laughs come at a cost: her ribs. During an apperance on the The Late Late Show with James Corden, Brosnahan explained that some of the costumes she wears caused some real-life injuries because of the corsetry involved in the period comedy.

Brosnahan told Corden that she has to wear a corset to play Midge Maisel, since it's part of the show's signature look. But as stars from Dakota Fanning to Emma Stone have said time and again, wearing a corset isn't easy.

"We talk so fast on the show that to get all the words out you can't really take very many breaths," she said. "And I think I wasn't breathing a lot and I was a bit constrained and apparently some of my ribs are sort of fused together."

"I can't take super-deep breaths anymore," she added for good measure, though she knows it's not somehing many people can relate to. "Its really fine guys. Champagne problems."

Kim Kardashian West also voiced some corset-related grivances after the 2019 Met Gala.
