Race Vlog Recap: Finale Ligure EDR

Thanks to modern technology, athletes can provide more content for their fans than ever before. They are able to upload race footage just hours after competing.

We’ve put together this roundup of race vlogs from athletes at the EDR in Finale Ligure below.

Greg Callaghan had quite the race in Finale. The Irishman finished 7th, his first top 10 since 2021. Callaghan’s result is especially impressive because he is racing as a privateer this season after his former team Devinci Global Racing shut its doors this past offseason.

Watch Greg’s race recap below.

Bex Baraona and Chloe Taylor are racing for their own grassroots team Gowaan Racing. Like Callaghan, Baraona was left sponsorless this offseason but took matters into her own hands and made her own team alongside her partner Chloe.

See Gowaan’s vlog from Finale below.

Baraona was one of several riders who were critical of the organisers over the time allowed on transfers between stages. If athletes missed their start time, they faced a time penalty.

Racing against the clock, Baraona said she did not have time to eat or drink in the rush between stages. To make matters worse, as she got to Stage 4, it was announced that the stage was closed and then canceled due to a bad crash, forcing Bex and other riders to sit around.

Still, Bex managed 10th place, while Chloe ended the day in 12th.

Charlie Murray is an incredible athlete. He was a professional freeride skier who had hardly mountain biked when he picked the sport up in 2018. In a couple of short years, Murray had qualified for the Enduro World Series. He has been a contender ever since.

See his recap of riding to second place in Finale race below.

After finishing the first stage 11th, Murray clawed his way back. Though he jokingly denied that he is strongest on pedally stages in his interview with Moi Moi TV, Murray’s grit can not be underplayed.

Watch the POV of Murray’s run on the final stage below.

Although the Enduro World Cup can't be easily televised or live streamed, athletes can still provide fans a way to closely follow the action.
