From a tortoise pin to clawed shoes, these accessories have story to tell!

When it was time to pick pieces to compliment their 2024 Oscars look, these stars searched outside of the box. Read on to see all of the eccentric pieces spotted on the red carpet this year.

Past Lives' Teo Yoo added a personal touch to his look on Sunday when he sported a a dazzling tortoise pin on his midnight tux. While on the red carpet he explained that that the accessory was a tribute to his pet tortoise of 10 years, Momo, who died last year.

Momo is so associated with the actor that he says his fan club in Korea is also named for his former pet.

The team behind Godzilla Minus One stayed in character while hitting the red carpet on Sunday when they brought along figures of the famous monster and showed off black shoes featuring heels in the shape of giant lizard claws.

Laura Karpman's Chocolate-Filled Bag

American Fiction composer Laura Karpman wore a showstopping ensemble dripping in silver sequins and paired with a Cadbury purple purse which she had stocked with chocolates that threw out of her bag as she made her way down the carpet — a tribute to the "sweetest day," she said.

Donata Wenders with a VHS Tape

When artist Donata Wenders hit the carpet on Sunday in her black dress, she carried one truly vintage accessory: a VHS tape-themed clutch (no word on whether it also comes with late fees from Blockbuster).

Elli Griff, who is nominated for her work on Napoleon, walked the carpet with her co-nominee Arthur Max and had a special pink accessory in tow. To match her baby pink outfit she carried along a bedazzled flamingo bag.
