The latest season of Netflix's Outer Banks finally arrived and of course, the finale left fans with an intense cliffhanger just like season 1.

In season 2, the Pogues continue the search for hidden treasure that John B's dad was seeking out before he died. Along with some new characters to stir the pot, there are tons of twists and turns in OBX 2 that not only raise eyebrows, but endless questions. Who will end up finding the treasure? Will Ward finally face the consequences of his actions? What are Sarah and Wheezie going to do with their family?

Ahead, find all the questions that can't be left unanswered in Outer Banks season 3.

*Major spoilers for season 2 of Outer Banks below!*

Why didn't John B push Ward off the ship?

Aboard the Coastal Venture — a container ship run by Ward — the Pogues are hunting for the cross of Santo Domingo. While getting into a physical fight on the ship, John B is faced with the choice of pushing Ward off or sparing his life. He ends up letting him free, although Ward is the one responsible for pushing Big John to his death in a similar fashion.

Showrunners haven't explicitly revealed why John B decided to hold back. From the perspective of crafting plotlines, Ward can potentially cause more trouble for the Pogues — and maybe even Rafe, after he didn't shoot at them — in future seasons.

Will we see more of JJ and Kie?

JJ and Kie shared tons of ship-worthy moments on OBX2 and if fans want to know anything, it's about the fate of their relationship and if it can actually become anything more than a friendship.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Madison Bailey dished what we can expect for JJ and Kie in the next season (you know, if there is one).

"We’re both feisty, we’re both always down for the crazy ideas. There's just something these two characters have inherently in common that could work," Madison said. OBX showrunner Josh Pate also expressed how writers want to explore JJ and Kie's relationship.

"Teen romance and teen soap are a big part of the show. We wanted to explore the Ki-Pope relationship but obviously, we're aware of how the fans feel about JJ and Kie. We wanted to tease that for the third season," Josh told Entertainment Weekly. "We didn't want to do it immediately, but we definitely want to do it just because that took us by surprise, like the audience's reaction to JJ and Kiara and rooting for that romance. So we were immediately open to it, because it seems like an interesting idea to explore but we kind of left it for season 3."

So much for JJ's "No Pogue-on-Pogue mackin'" rule, am I right?

Can the Pogues actually own Poguelandia?

Although Cleo and the five original Pogues — John B, Sarah, JJ, Pope and Kie — end up on a deserted island they claim as their own, are they really able to do that? If you think about it, there's a lot of logistics that go into owning land, like living costs, taxes, laws, and even democracy. Because most (if not all) of the Pogues are teens, they might not be legally allowed to actually own the land — but, at least they can say they do. Hopefully, they can pull it off with or without the treasure they've been seeking.

What does it mean for John B and the Pogues now that Big John is actually alive?

A lot can change for the Pogues now that Big John is alive — especially after the letter he sent to Limbrey that says he'd help her if she helps John B. There's a lot to unpack there, especially because her decision can determine the Pogues' fate in the future. If she chooses to help them, she can be a massive ally. However, if she decides against it, she can continue being one of their greatest enemies.

Showrunner Josh Pate also revealed that Big John being alive contributes to the action-filled treasure hunt that keeps the Outer Banks storyline going strong.

"The treasure-hunt aspect of the show is something that we see as important and integral to the show," Josh told TVLine. "And bringing him back, we realized maybe there was a way to [combine] these different treasures that they're going after into a larger mythology."

How are Limbrey and Big John connected?

In season 2, we find out that Big John writes a letter about the shroud addressed to Carla Limbrey, who acted as a major obstacle for the Pogues. After *the* reveal that Big John is actually alive, fans were left wondering how the two are connected.

Ward, Scooter, and the two men that stalked John B in OBX 1 aren't the only ones who sought after the Royal Merchant. Assuming Big John's research took up most of his life, he probably came across other people who were on the same mission to find the shipwreck — including Limbrey, who most likely had other contacts who connected to keep Big John hidden.
