This Questionable Outfit From Miss Congeniality Has Become the Biggest Trend of 2020

Here's a shocking tidbit we recently learned: This December, the movie Miss Congeniality will turn 20 years old. And, while it might not seem like two decades since Sandra Bullock played Grace Hart (err...Gracie Lou Freebush!), an FBI agent who goes undercover at the Miss United States pageant, the fashion tells a different story. Mostly because, like a variety of '00s trends, the film's outfits are suddenly everywhere again.

We're not just talking Grace's post-makeover, purple mini dress, either (although we wouldn't be surprised to spot that one on the red carpet sometime soon). Rather, it's her work look — which, yes, was definitely the butt of a few jokes — that models, celebrities, and even designers are loving.

Baggy black pants paired with chunky black shoes are having a moment in 2020. While Grace's version was questionable at best (and the one from the 2005 sequel wasn't much better), we're not mad at seeing it pop up again, especially because the pairing has been updated for current times.
