Queen Rania of Jordan Goes From Hoodie to Haute at Princess Salma’s Graduation
The Jordanian monarch, Queen Rania, sported both low-key and high-polish looks for a family celebration.
Queen Rania of Jordan is usually the picture of polish—her recent fashion statements include Simon Miller’s marigold culottes, Sara Battaglia’s gingham midi skirt, and white boots—but just before her daughter Princess Salma’s graduation from the International Academy in Amman, Jordan, Her Majesty was spotted in the unlikeliest of looks: athleisure. As she prepped the princess, Rania went for low-key cool in a tailored hoodie and lounge pants; she even tied her hair up with a scrunchie.
Later, for the big moment, Her Majesty swapped out the streetwear for classic glamour in a long-sleeved midnight blue dress peppered with embellishments at the cuffs and collar for subtle sparkle. A pleated skirt created a ladylike silhouette, while criss-cross detailing at the bodice was a clever alternative to a waist-defining belt.

It’s key to note that we’re not saying the “best team” or “best roster.” Instead, we’re talking about the best confluence of factors that can outline a path for survival and then success.
