The Queen and Philip's Anniversary Photo Reveals a Sweet Card from George, Charlotte, and Louis

In honor of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's 73rd wedding anniversary tomorrow, Buckingham Palace has released a new photograph of the British monarch and her consort, the Duke of Edinburgh. The picture (above), taken by Getty photographer Christopher Jackson, shows the royal couple looking at a sweet anniversary card made by their great-grandchildren: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. A closer look at the note reveals a colorful "73" on the front in honor of the milestone, as well as a number of polka dots.

Additional cards and letters sent by well-wishers can also be seen in the picture, which was taken earlier this week in the Oak Room of Windsor Castle, where the Queen and Prince Philip are currently social distancing.

In addition to offering a rare peek inside the royal residence (just look at that view!), the image harkens back to several portraits taken of the Queen and Philip over the years. In the new photo, the Queen is wearing a pale blue dress by Stewart Parvin adorned with her Chrysanthemum Brooch.

This brooch has long been one of her favorites. According to the royal jewelry blog the Court Jeweller, "she received it in 1946 when she launched an oil tanker, appropriately named the British Princess." And almost exactly 73 years ago, the then-Princess Elizabeth was photographed wearing the piece, which is made of sapphires and diamonds, and set in platinum, while on her honeymoon at Broadlands in Hampshire.
