Queen Maxima of the Netherlands took inspiration from Belgian fashion house Natan for her most recent royal engagement look. The royal attended the King’s Day concert in Emmen, Netherlands on Monday alongside her husband, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, and sister-in-law Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands.

For the occasion, Queen Maxima wore a round-collar, long-sleeve scuba top in yellow from Natan’s spring 2024 couture collection. The royal paired the look with a high-waisted skirt from the fashion house in a shade of icy blue. She completed the look with a pair of Gianvito Rossi powder blue pumps. She also carried the Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Knot Clutch and wore bracelets and a set of earrings.

Queen Maxima has always gravitated toward bright shades when it comes to her approach to fashion. What sets this look apart from others, however, is the way in which Queen Maxima takes the yellow round-collar, long-sleeve scuba top and elevates it with maximized femininity.

With the addition of the icy blue, high-waisted skirt from Natan, Queen Maxima manages to give the yellow top a feminine appearance without sacrificing the garment’s place as the centerpiece of her colorful look.

Queen Maxima often fashions pieces that accentuate a particular element of her whole ensemble. While attending a visit to the Straat Museum in Amsterdam on April 18, the royal wore a green dress with a large statement bow on her shoulder by Dutch fashion label Jantaminiau. Along with the large shoulder bow, the dress featured a checkered pattern of green and mocha hues, with the green color beaded onto the frock.

Color play is a staple part of Queen Maxima’s overall style and has been for years. Between colorful patterns and experimentation with bright hues, the royal finds a way to merge her personal approach to fashion with classic silhouettes and styles European royal women are known for.
