Queen Maxima of the Netherlands just confirmed that she’s a force to be reckoned with when it comes to top-notch royal fashion.

Last night, the 50-year-old monarch attended a fancy dinner alongside her husband, King Willem-Alexander, at the Bellevue Palace in Berlin. The outing took place during the second day of the couple’s state visit to Germany.

Queen Maxima stepped out in a gorgeous, embroidered gown by Jan Taminiau. If her outfit looks familiar, it’s probably because she previously wore the floor-length dress while celebrating King Willem-Alexander’s 50th birthday back in 2017. Not to mention, Jan Taminiau is one of the royal’s go-to designers.

After we pried our eyes off her gown, we immediately focused on her headpiece. The flashy accessory is a miniature version (seriously) of the 19th century Stuart Tiara, featuring intricate swirling patterns that are adorned with massive diamonds. Queen Maxima accessorized the look with a matching necklace and earrings.

The inclusion of the headpiece is a pretty big deal, since Queen Maxima hasn’t worn a tiara since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. This was a result of canceled events and intimate gatherings that didn’t require formal accessories. For example, the monarch attended the State Opening of Parliament back in May 2021 and opted for a simple hat, which she paired with a casual day dress.

Queen Maxima and her husband share three daughters together: Princess Catharina-Amalia (17), Princess Alexia (16) and Princess Ariane (14).

Cheers to more royal re-wears and tiara sightings.
